I'm late for tea!

Hello dears,


No time, no time! I'm late for tea! I have to finish my dress in two weeks! So yes, right now, I'm on a very tight scheme, since I haven't done much last weeks... Oh dear. So, my goal is to finish the base, that'd be the pleated skirt and the bodice, and the rest I'll add later on, because if I do that in a haste, it won't be pretty...

About school now. So, yesterday was my very first day at the Art Academy, and, well, I was suprised! I was one of the only alternative students! There are around 100 first years, so we got 7 small classes. My classmates are kind, a bit shy, but I like them. They showed us through the building, and it's huge! I'm so glad I only have my classes at a certain area, otherwise I would get lost for sure, haha. Today we had a guided tour through the Bonnefanten museum, quite interesting, a lot of medieval and renaissance styled art, the latter is one of my favorite art styles (but of course there's nothing better than some good Art Nouveau ;) ). We, as art academy students, have free entrance, so I guess I go and visit the museum more than once.

Next week we'll have a project-week, but the teachers refused to tell much about it. I only know it involves laterns and... Well, that's about it, hahaha. Well, back to my sewin-machine it is! I have so much to sew and I still need to make and think of accesoires.

Long time no see!

Hello dears,

How have you all been? Long time no see, right?

My vacation was boring, exciting, awkward, fun, chill... Just everything a vacation should be! I have worked a lot, been designing a lot, and have been away a lot.

Castlefest was a blast! Really, I have never been to a event with such a great atmosphere as Castlefest, so I'll definitely go next year! My LARP-outfit was quite a success, they all liked and have been discussing wheter it was viking or celtic, whilst I say none of the named. I am planning on making some changes, since it wasn't thát comfortable to wear when fighting, it made me feel quite insecure. Ok, maybe not "some" changes, but just change the whole concept and outfit, but more about that in another blog post! My friends and I spent a part of Friday/Saturday night at the beach, we walked around there at like, 2 a.m? We also went swimming very early Friday morning at 7.30 a.m, haha. I had a blast.

So, I have been home for two weeks, and what have I been doing? Well, I started with a new costuming project (abandoning my corset for a while until I found someone who's better at maths than me, haha); Steampunk lady! The outfit's going to have an 1860's feeling to it, so Victorian rather than the more popular Edwardian style. I am working on the skirt, and damn, it looks great already! But that's also because the fabric is amazing! Old curtains for the win, hehe.

But, Chaotic Witch, it seems like you are not going to stay for long? Well, no, on the morrow, I will be of to Maastricht for my introduction week! I'm so excited, a mere two weeks left, and I'll finally have my first lessons at the Art Academy! I'll be home Thursday evening, but, Friday in the afternoon I will leave for a convention; Abunai! Yeah! So, yes, I'm quite a busy person for the upcoming week...

Ready and armed for my Introduction week! And yes, everything for the whole week, except the sleeping bag, is in that bag, that inlcudes everyday a new set of clothing (and some extra), an air mattress and a pump, and more of the usual stuff. I think I should apply for a role as Mary Poppins or Hermione, haha.

In this Witch's Boiling Pot (aka my brains) there's boiling an nice stew of ideas, shame, there's no time for the ideas, nor money. Actually, forget about the time, it's all about the money. I am working a lot, thus earning though.

Hold your breath!

Hello lovelies,

Today I finally started on the patterns I need for my underbust corset, that certaintly did take a long time, right? I'm so glad I started, it was about time. Right now, I cut out my patterns in a scrap fabric, tommorow I'll sew them together to see if the patterns I've drawn were right, I mean, you never know! If they turn out right, I'll make another sample for fitting, and after that I'll make the real one. I hope it turns out to be less work than I think it will be...

Although I am a quite experienced seamstress, making a corset was something totally different, especially this pattern. I have got a patten which I could've used as well, but it wouldn't work for my body, I wouldn't be able to create the dramatic curves I want. I have a naturally curvy body, so drafting the patterns was a challenge, because I need a corset that leaves my bone-y hips alone and cinches my waist more, to create a wasp-waist instead of my usual hourglass figure.

I am very pleased to anounce that I have graduated, and I will be going to the art academy in September! I'm so happy and relieved! I'm going to have a grande party to celebrate it.

I am also very pleased to anounce that my horse is a true supermodel! Every picture we took with her was stunning... Well, okay, almost every picture, there were derp-pictures, and stunning pictures, and nothing inbetween. Why taking pictures of my horse? Well, I had a Legend of Zelda photoshoot, so Janneke's name was changed into Epona for one evening. Here are some of the results;

Mad Teaparty

Hello dears,

How are you all doing? I haven't updated for so long! I have lived quite a boring life for a while, and I don't want to bother you lovelies with dull and useless blog-updates, so I decided to wait for a while.

This week was a truly awesome week! I had TWO Teaparties, one as a promotion model, and the other one with the lolita-community. Both were a lot of fun and I've had a truly splendid time!

The first Teaparty, last Thursday, was in the middle of a big city, we were promoting some sort of Fashion Week which was coming up there. We were seated in super-high chairs at a super-high table, so it was a real high-tea. It was really hot that day, so I decided to take a risk and I did not wear socks, panties or anything like that, I just can't handle heat well, if I get too warm I get a rash all over my body. In my opinion it looked fine, and for the other lolita's; Don't get your bloomers in a bunch about it, I still wore my bloomers ;-) Here are some pics;

And here are the pictures, or well, I don't have them all, here's an outfit shot of what I wore to the other teaparty. I am in love with my floral dress, and all the lolita's complimented me on it, I was so flattered.

Also, Thursday I get to hear wether I have passed my exams or not. If I passed, I can officially call myself an Art Academy student, and I finally, after six years, leave my dull secondary schoollife behind me.

Welcome to my life

Hello dears,

Welcome to my life, where the finals are over and I pray that I'll get the positive message I don't have to come back to high school. Which I'll hopefully receive in about three weeks.

Meanwhile, I just returned from a fashion show, but it was nothing special, just some goodwill for my school, that's all really. It wasn't even busy. I had a good laugh with my Rainbowbro, so it wasn't that dull, but still kind of pissed because it is a lot of work to get my stuff up there, and when you step on the stage (not even catwalk) you see a half-empty hall. Not the scenario I wanted it to be. Anyhow, I'll be presenting my collection the 2nd of June again at a much bigger event, so let's pray for more people.

Oh! The 9th of June, I have a lolita teaparty, with the theme "Victorian Romance" I'm going to make a straw bonnet and a bustle for underneath my blue floral dress so it has more of an 1880's silhouette. I'm also going to buy fabrics for my male design for my collection and for my costume for Castlefest! I finally have time on my hands so I can finally get busy!

Wow, Chaotic Witch, what's with you updating so irregular?!

Well, my dears, this old hag is really busy passing her exams, if she doesn't pass, she won't be able to go to the Art Academy. Her life is at stake here.

Not only that, but meanwhile, she has been really busy with... Well, Witchcraft. And I'm not going to tell all about it yet, but I'm sure the goth-readers will like it a lot...

It's always Adventure Time!

Hello lovelies,

I am só sorry I haven't updated in like, two weeks? I went on an unexpected journey (read; vacation) and no internet there.... I'm glad I was able to relax though before my Finals (which I am horribily going to screw up).

So, it's Adventure Time, I've finally started drawing out my patterns for the corset, and in a not-too-distant-future I'll will buy my fabrics.

.... So, Chaotic Witch, what are you going to make? Well, I am going to make something what you can call "Pastel Goth". I know, I know, you'll probably think like; "Oh god, not another so-called "Soft-grunge" girl" Don't worry, It'll be Pastel Goth. I like challenges, and I think this certaintly will be one. Have faith!

My friends are all really curious, and so am I. Well, I have to hold my reputation high, can't screw up on this one... Can't wait to start though!

Like a boss!

Hello dears,

First of all, sorry for the late update, thursday I worked and yesterday I had LSD; Last Day of School (in dutch it would be Last School Day, of Laatste School Dag). It was just really, really, really awesome, and I had a great time at secondary school. Right now I've got a two-week holiday and after that I got finals, then I finally get to say goodbye to secondary school and hello Art Academy!

Of course, you want to know what the EFF was like... Well, it was even better than LSD, of course. I had a great time seeing some distant friends and of course I went with my best friend and her boyfriend. Although I had never expected it, since it was not really a costume, there have been taken a lot of pictures, which I am waiting for, but I got a few from my friend. I guess the colours you see are fun to photograph ^.^

I think the make-up should definitely be improved, but my bed wouldn't let me go and so I hadn't much time left... After all, I actually did because Michelle & boyfriend were LATE. So there I was, totally ready, under the impression they could be here any moment... They actually came half an hour too late. I can't say I did not expect that, because I did expect it... But if I had known they would be thát late, I would've done better make-up.

Anyway, look forward to some creativity the upcoming days, I got big plans for the holiday!

Yes! I finally know what I am going to wear to the Elf Fantasy Fair this year! I'm not going to post pictures, but I'll tell you my idea; Cyber-doll... Enough said ;-) Wait for the pictures! It's going to be a cyber-lolita coord... But a bit more costume-ish

All I need to do now is get some inspiring ideas for my make-up'd eye (only one...) and I'm done. Oh... I do hope my Rainbow Bro (my kind of BFF) does not forget to bring the skirt with her... I'm so excited, only two days left!

Also, I was bored, so I made myself a floral headdress... Not sure when I'm going to wear it though, hahaha.

My life at the moment...

Hello dears,

At the moment, my life isn't really interesting.

-Still haven't bought my fabrics, although I have been sketching and designing a lot, so in some way I have made progress.

-School is boring as well

- I work a lot.

And so on. The 20th of April is one very important date though, because I'll be heading towards the Elf Fantasy Fair, and my cybergoth outfit will be worn for the first time! I have to make some props (oh god, so many plans) but it'll be fine, I think I am going to start after dinner, it shouldn't be too much work. All I need to make are horns and ears... That's about it. Or well, if I can find the right color of fleece there is a possibility I get a tail... Hehehe. And a backpack to match...

On the other hand, I have been drawing quite a bit, and this is the sketch for my current project;

I know, the hand is awful, and I already ereased it. I'm not sure what to do with it yet. I also need to do some research on frogs.

One does not simply walk into Mordor

Really dears,

I should stop listening to the Lord of the Rings soundtracks, they give me wáááááááy too much inspiration. There are already so many projects creating themselves in my mind, I cannot take any more... Or well, that's what I would want it to be.

First, I really need to finish my warrior and Steampunk Lady, after that I'll see what's next, these two have the highest priority.

Also, I got myself finally a job again; at McDonald's. Not really glamourous, and my dad was already making fun of me being an art academy student working at McDonald's and stuff (you can fill in the jokes yourselves)... It hasn't really been an exciting week, haven't been working on much, because I don't have the fabrics yet. Hmm, I might as well get them tomorrow...

Sew, sew, sew!

Hello darlings,

I can finally relax after some busy months and can finally concentrate on my sewing projects. I'm in the middle of one right now, but it isn't really big. It'll be a celtic warrior, and it is nearly finished. I'm actually pleased to announce that I'll start with another project within a week; a proper Steampunk Lady. And when I say lady, I mean LADY

Classy, flowy edwardian clothing, a big hat and of course the neccesairy steampunk-elements. I can't wait to start, because it will also be the first time I'll be making a corset! A corset for underneath the clothes, what it was meant for. I'm not going to use a edwardian period pattern, that is WAY too difficult, it is really weird, and when you have never made a corset... Well, you're going to have a bad time. So, I'll take it easy and use an aprox. 1880 pattern, it is a easy, clear, and comfortable corset, quite much the ideal one for my body-type.

Also, I'm thinking about starting a small buisiness in handmade goth-clothing, payable goth-clothing. Because the normal cheap goth-clothing is just plain ugly, with ugly fabrics and ugly designs, I know that there are quite a lot of people out there who are waiting for something like this... Or at least, that is what I hope.

I just returned from Bonn, Germany, and my legs are tired, my mind is tired, everything is tired. I just, can't even think straight, I feel like a child which is tired after a day in Disneyland.

Also, I'm pleased to announce I'll be sewing a new project soon, it'll be very experimental.....
I'll keep a secret what it will be, but it'll involve leather, fur, and some worbla amour (more experiments!)

Hello my dears,

So, last Friday I had a short shoot with a new piece I made. Here are some pics;

I still want to add stiffeners, but I found out I wanted that after the shoot. Anyway, I think I'm going to make a steampunk outfit out of it, I want to do more with this piece than... Just this. My boyfriend likes it, he wants me to show it... I was like; "Yeah.. Sure... Show it." ;)

My week has been relaxed, school is coming to an end, my finals are in three months, and next week is the last week I'll have proper classes. After that, I only have to go to the classes I want to go to. That would be four subjects.... In other words, I got so much time to sew my cyber-outfit! I'm going to buy the fabrics I need for it at Saturday, and I hope they have the colours to match my cyberfalls.
I totally can't wait to wear it to the Elf Fantasy Fair! I'll talk about the fair next week.

Good Evening dears!

Yes, I know, it is not thursday, and yes, I also know it has been more than a week, I'm so sorry! But you see, school kept me busy, I had to finish a project, which I had been kind of... Avoiding. A very bad thing, because if I don't finish it, I am not allowed to make my final exams which means I can't go to to the Art Academy next schoolyear. Anyway, tomorrow's the deadline, and I'm almost done.
Ever since I have this obsession with the Victorian Era, I wrote an Essay about
"The influence of the 19th century woman on the fashion of that time."
Not really the easiest subject, but I had a lot of fun researching and I have been creative and had some inspiration for a new design, which I will upload really soon!

Upcoming thursday I will show you one of my newest desings called "Poltergeist"...

Good almost-evening!

It has been a rather... Well, my week was a complete disaster, you see, I'm really ill at the moment and I feel like- no, let's keep it lady-like, I really don't feel well.
I have done nothing this week, but let me reveal myself;

So, I decided to ressurect this blog from the dead. 

This time, it won't be about fashion or clothing. A new school year will start in August 2013, and from that day on I will be able to call myself an Art academy student for the upcoming 4 years.

I'm going to try to blog about my 4 years, about the ups and downs. In the upcoming weeks I will introduce myself, and I can't wait to start blogging about my years at the Art academy!
